Reading through my Auto Tech book from college and had a great laugh at this tech tip.
at the very end it says "no one will be upset" for asking a question. in my experience the only response is service managers angry your slowing other techs down or techs responding in anger or a form of bullying for bothering them.
I'll keep it short and just share 2 experiences from my time in a dealership and a independent shop.
I was fresh out of college and I needed to use a oxy acetylene torch but never used before. I asked the tech I was paired with for training how to operate it and the techs response was if you don't know how to use that then you should just quite and find another career.
I was standing next to an older tech in a quicklane and a new hire who's still in highschool comes in and the old tech says to me. I'm not training that (racial slur) he's going in your lane.
